Philippe JACQUES is Professor in Microbiology and Applied Microbiology at Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, University of Liege. He is actually President of TERRA Teaching and Research Centre (Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech) and also co-founder of Lipofabrik company. He is expert in fermentation technology and microbial secondary metabolites especially nonribosomal peptides and lipopeptides. He is involved in various European scientific research projects (coordinator of SMARTBIOCONTROL portfolio (INTERREG V, 26 partners, 10 millions of euros), coordinator of BESTBIOSURF project (COBIOTECH, 7 partners, 1.5 millions of euros) and partner of ASTINPROD (ERA-IB, 7 partners, 1.3 millions of euros)) and the founding of an international laboratory between the University of Liege and the University of Lille (Coordinator of ALIBIOTECH, 5.3 millions of euros, 6 partners). He is author or co-author of over 146 related scientific publications and 7 patents.
