Dr. ir. Susanne Zibek

Dr. ir. Susanne Zibek holds two diploma degrees: in chemical engineering and technical biology. She finished her PhD thesis at University Freiburg. Since 2008 she is responsible for the group (~25 scientists) Industrial Biotechnology at Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology IGB. Her topics are treatment of renewable resources, lignocellulose biorefinery, biocatalytic and fermentation process development and optimization, scale-up of fermentation processes. Besides her research she was also in 2009-2012 project leader for engineering and construction our pilot plant in Leuna (D) and had the chance to explain the work to the German chancellor Angela Merkel. Besides her work she is lecturer at different universities (Universität Stuttgart and Hohenheim).
